So forget why I'm in Indianapolis - the point is, I am here, and today I ventured from my hostel somewhere in the northern section of Indy to see if there was anymore to this city than the Indy 500 Raceway.
People will tell you that, if you're here when there's no race, there's nothing going on. And yet, attempts have been made to make Indianapolis the kind of city that will appeal to arts & culture geeks like me. First, there's the Eiteljorg, which features "the largest collection of Native American artifacts east of the Mississippi" as well as a Indianapolis Art Museum and a Indianapolis Contemporary Art Museum.
All of these I planned to visit. Of course, I traveled to where I am on a very limited budget, which means things like *PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION* are meaningful to traveler's like me. Did I mention that Indianapolis probably has THE WORST public transportation system I have ever experienced, ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD?
